In Canada, it is starting up a 100% digital P&C insurance company, with this objective:

The company is currently recruiting to form the team who will launch this new digital insurance company in Canada, designed to challenge how insurance is delivered in Canada. The goal is to grow to 200 employees within 5 years.

The Business analyst is responsible for facilitating the setup and management of a superb insurance journey for their customers and in conjunction with working closely with our Risk, Product and Data and web teams in an agile working environment. 

The goal is to deliver superior service and create a data and technology centric organization. The role of Business Analyst is primarily to form a connection between the business and the IT. The Business Analyst will translate business requirements into system requirements for this new online insurance company and will do that in such a way that that will challenge the way insurance is done in Canada.

Key Accountabilities:

-Responsible for building high quality solutions by taking technical lead as to analysis, development, building and testing, implementing and run;
-Analyze and describe business processes and translating business requirements for set-up and improvement of information systems. testing business and end-user requirements with all parties, finding solutions for solving and developing functional translations/blueprints;
-Develops and designs proof of concepts and systems, improvement processes, does testing and make sure that hardware, software and network solutions are integrated. When needed works together with suppliers and subcontractors;
-Includes also making impact & risk assessments, investigating and advising on solutions, impact on processing. Supports in setting up of business cases and project support during implementation;
-Will become an expert on our front and backend systems;
-Takes a role in reporting on systems (availability, reliability etc).
-Responding to issues raised by employees relating to systems.
-Training employees on business systems;
-Governance - To ensure Information technology and management are in- line with agreed strategy and policy. To ensure that policy and strategy is in compliance with government legislation and standards in those provinces in which Canada is registered and / or operates.
-Development – Support in development and implementation of identified projects/goals:

 -Create modern office infrastructure (First level support for Office

- Be part of setting up the complete customer journey and actually

 -Business continuity - to develop and maintain the Major Incident & backend insurance systems as well as front-end sales, marketing and data systems applications, telephony and printers), IT incident, problem and change request management. First and second level support for network (WAN/LAN) connectivity, security, Windows & Linux servers and VMWare realizing it together with agile team including setting up Customer data management, UBI/telematics structures. Mobile) Application development, maintenance and release planning management Business Continuity plan for IT and to implement measures designed to safeguard the Information Technology and Management needs of the company in the event of major incidents or disasters.

Education and Experience

 -Tertiary degree in IT or similar. Experienced BA/ IT project manager; continuous professional development in BD /project management roles

 -Formal project management/BD training and

 -Knowledge of Portal, CMS, CRM data and database systems; understanding of data security and other compliance responsibilities

 -Experience with implementation of insurance backend systems such as Guidewire or Duck Creek.

Skills (acquired by training or experience)

 -Business Analysis skills. Substantiates, makes links, recognizes and structures causes.

- Flexibility: easily assignable to multiple projects, adaptable, chooses various ways to solve things.

 -Listening: clear verbal information provider, asks questions, repeats, checks and summarizes.

 -Organizer: makes achievable plans, self- management, structured planner, controls process, good structured project plans.

 -Demonstrably effective at providing timely, concise, audience-appropriate information orally and in writing (English)
